Terran Knights 3: Chapter 17

A couple of hours had passed since Sarah had disappeared at the pier. She wandered around to see if he was still there but there was no sign of her green fiancé. So, she transformed again and went directly home. When she landed, she didn’t even make it to the front door before it opened in her face.

Shocked she kept a hand against her chest and stared at Jack. He looked at her equally startled but when his brain processed what exactly was happening, he hugged her tightly and picked her off the ground. “Holy shit Sarah!”

She grunted and smiled, wrapping her arm around his shoulders. After meeting her potential daughter from the future, she was really needing something familiar. And he was as familiar as it got. He set her down slowly and looked at her. She wobbled slightly her legs tingling but she met his gaze and smiled again.

“Hey,” she said sighing softly.

“What happened to you? You got blasted by something and then they got you and you were gone. I looked everywhere for you. I was about to find Marco and scramble the troops and shit,” he said quickly.

“I figured. I’m fine. Jenny. Just wanted to talk.”

“Jenny?” Jack repeated. “Who’s Jenny?”

Sarah blinked quickly, remembering what she’d said and for a second felt guilty. But then again, she wasn’t sure if she couldn’t talk abouthert. Jenny didn’t say it needed to be a secret. Heck she even said she’d be in contact with her again. She looked at the almost expectant face of Jack.

“A lot happened Jack. And we need to talk. About more than what just happened,” she said looking at him and feeling guilty. He paused before nodding, a mirrored look of guilt on his own face. Before any of them could say anything though their phones both went off. Marco was calling Jack and Katherine was calling Sarah.

They both answered and listened for a few minutes before agreeing together. They hung up and glanced at one another before talking at the same time.”

“Everyone’s meeting at the temple to talk about the space ship.”

“Marco wants to grab us so we can get to the temple and talk about the space ship.”

They paused staring each other and then laughed. But the laugh was a little hollow and continuing the trend they said in unison, “I’m sorry.”

Staring at each other they both laughed again, this time more real. Scratching the back of his head Jack said, “Maybe we can talk about his after the meeting?”

“Definitely Spud,” Sarah looked away hiding her smile. Hearing that old nickname again made him breathe a sigh of relief. “You have wants and I do too. We can meet in the middle.”

The air shimmered near them and Marco appeared still in his gym clothes. He looked between the two of them and was already somewhat apprehensive but the air was different around them. He looked back and forthlowly, pointing at them.

“Whatever you two did I’ll hear about it later. We gotta go,” he held out both his hands to them.

“Right handsome.”

“Beam us up leader.”

Marco took both of their hands and then they all disappeared in red, green, and yellow light. When they came back, they were in the temple. The sun was in the sky and yet somehow being directly under it they didn’t feel the heat. Not fiercely at least. They could breathe and even feel a breeze. Much different from coming in the middle of the night.

The three of them were the last to arrive around the crystal. However, there were still extras along with them. Specifically, Cal and Gen. Sarah raised her eyebrows at them and then waved. Gen gave a slight nod and Cal whistled.

“Really upgraded things since I was a part of the team,” Cal folded his arms. “My feelings are almost hurt. Almost.” He rolled up his sleeves and then smiled approaching the celestial. “Long time no see Ley.”

“It certainly has been some time. I am glad to see you are in good health,” they said dipping their head. Though when they looked at Gen they tilted their head curious. “I do not believe we have had a chance to meet.”

“No we haven’t. I’ve only ever met your weird brother. He was a piece of work,” she replied glancing at Owen. “What am I even doing here?”

“It seems that your connection to a celestial allowed you to journey along with Owen. Interesting. I did not expect this but it is not an unwelcome surprise,” they smiled but turned properly toward the assembled. “Unfortunately, pleasantries aren’t something we can share at the present.”

“Right. There was a whole space ship flying through the air,” Seth said spreading his arms. “Apparently it crashed into the lake?”

“That’s what happened,” Sarah confirmed. “We watched it come down. And there’s more.”

“Way more,” Marco said walking toward the crystal. Swiping his hand over it, it showed off the earth again. But just outside the earth the moon appeared. And floating just above the surface was another ship. Even from where they were, they could tell that ship was massive. “The ship that crashed down here was being chased by this thing. From what I can tell from the crystal, once it shot down the other one down it backed off to the moon.”

“What’s it doing out there?” Kathryn asked.

“No idea. Maybe we should find out?” Owen asked. “It can’t be good. And what about the other one?

“They crashed into the lake. The crew got away but they won’t be causing trouble,” Sarah said quickly.

“What makes you so sure?” Gen asked raising her eyebrow.

“Sarah?” Jack asked and she met his eyes.

“Trust me for now. I’ll explain after we kick whoever’s on the moon back home.”

He nodded confidently, “Okay.”

Marco looked at her and nodded quickly, “Okay. Alight everyone we’re going to the moon. Let’s go to work.”
