Terran Knights 3: Chapter 45

They left the temple returning to Earth to prepare for their mission. Just the idea of getting to Kalcoa was going to need some time on their part as well as the Celestials. The Astro Knights looked around at everyone, Rizier and Ya’Cahin both taking the stone wristbands from Cal and Marco modifying them so they worked through him instead.

“Alright not that I don’t like all of you guys but what the hell are we doing now?” Seth asked spreading his arms. “Also starving.”

“Breakfast then?” Jack suggested.

“Always thinking with your stomach,” Marco shook his head.

“I could use breakfast. And coffee,” Ya’Cahin said ignoring the look that Jenny was giving her.

“Sure. I’ve got nothing going on,” Kathryn said and glanced at everyone else.

“Let me call Ben. God knows I owe him a talk after everything that’s happened.”

“I’ll go with you. Might need a buffer,” Kathryn offered.

“Thanks. I might need it a little bit.”

They walked off and Sarah looked toward Jack, frowning a bit and he caught sight of her and nodded. “Hey handsome. Me and Sarah need to talk for a bit. Don’t go and leave us behind will ya?”

Marco glanced between the two of them and his face showed some level of anxiousness. But Sarah walked over and squeezed his hand gently, “Don’t worry handsome. We’re just talking. No fighting. No biting each other’s heads off. I promise.”

He looked at Jack next who nodded as well and he sighed. “Okay. Just don’t be gone long. Pretty sure finding a place that does breakfast for as many people as us is going to be a tough sell.”

“We’ll try to be quick,” Jack said.

Jenny looked at them and glanced at Marco for some sort of reassurance. Marco smiled at her, “They’ll be fine.”

The pair of them stepped away, walking across the street. Jack put his hands into his pocket and Sarah held her hands in front of her body. Neither one of them knew how to brooch this topic. They didn’t know how to say what they wanted to say. The ocean of damage between them was smaller but there was still some paddling to do.

“I-“

“Okay-“

“You go first.”

“No go ahead.”

They looked at each other and laughed covering their faces slightly. Jack glanced at her slowly, “We never had this much trouble talking to each other did we?”

“No. We didn’t,” Sarah chuckled softly and then sighed. “We used to always yell at each other. Good and bad.”

“We haven’t been doing that as much anymore.”

“We haven’t been talking much,” Sarah sighed. “And that’s been my fault. I was a control freak bridezilla. My aunt always made me think my wedding was going to be the happiest days of my life. Not because hers was great but because she remembers my mom’s. And she’s always wanted me to have one too so she talked them up. I actually planned it out a lot.”

“Trust me I know,” Jack smiled. “I’ve seen the books.”

“Right,” blushing she looked away. “But because I planned it out so hard I couldn’t take deviation. I couldn’t accept that you wanted to help. I tried to do it all on my own. It was my way or the high way. And that’s not fair.”

Jack shook his head, taking his hands out of his pocket. He walked to the corner and looked at her. “I mean. You weren’t wrong to get mad at me. I was doing a lot of things thinking you’d love it. Thinking it would be perfect without even needing to check with you ro Marco. And then getting mad that you didn’t appreciate it. I was just throwing wrenches into the plan and doing things my way.”

“We’re really alike aren’t we?”

“I swear Marco’s said that before,” he laughed.

“He has,” she smiled back. “But what do you want? For the wedding. Us.”

Jack raised his eyebrows slowly and looked at sky. But he looked at her and said, “I want to marry you and Marco. I want to help with the wedding. Be a part of it. I want to follow your lead. You and Marco are definitely better planners than me. But I want to be at your side. What do you want?”

“Kinda the same,” she said. “I want to marry you and Marco. I want to have my dream wedding. But I think my dream wedding needs to be modified to incorporate both of you. It’s not just my wedding, right?” She smiled.

“If you’ll let me in it at least,” Jack flashed her a small smile.

Rolling her eyes, she walked over to him and kissed him softly, wrapping her arms around him tightly. He kissed her back holding her close and then rubbed his nose against hers. “Can we talk about how we have a daughter?”

“I know right. It’s not going to come undone with some sort of time loop thing is it?”

“Nope. I already asked her about it.”

“Good. I like her a lot.”

“Me too. Did I ever tell you I actually like the name Jenny for a girl?”

“Really?” she gave him a wry smile. “And let me guess you’d name your son Jack?”

His eyes widened, “How’d you know that?”

“Because you’re very obvious. Come on,” she started walking again. “Let’s get back to everyone else and eat.”

Jack laughed and ran after her, “Now you’re talking.”
