Terran Knights 3: Chapter 50

Fighting forward wasn’t the goal but it was definitely the effect. The front did their work beating down robots and aliens alike. Owen and Gen working back and forth pink light and black fireballs going off as they worked their way through the crowd. Sarah’s axe’s rained down lightning on this alien planet while Alice redecorated the landscape with her powers.

But sure enough the fight wasn’t simple hand to hand fighting. Soldiers came forward sporting massive guns and rocket launchers that were equally twice the size of any of the knights. Others conjured psykik energy that bordered on magic to their fingers or tentacles before raining it down on their heads.

Thankfully stopping magic wasn’t all that hard for them.

Kathyrn’s shields were bright casting blue light in every direction, shading many of the knights in its colors.  It was very good at catching every bullet, missile, and laser blast that came their way. What she couldn’t block, Seth’s shield did and returned to sender.

On the other side Jack’s guardian was working back to back with him, their green scythe’s flashing and cutting through their opponents. Rizier however stood between them casting their mind out, gently touching at each soldier and skirting to the next.

Their green stone flashed bright and they opened each of their eyes suddenly. They turned their head around entirely, the sand within them departing and reforming to properly face the direction. Their eyes saw darkness, but then the crystal manifest in their mind. And beside it they saw two beings. One that looked almost like a floating ball of smoke with a dozen pinpricks of light in the center. And besides that was a massive orb that was darker, with thousands of dots of light within the amalgamation. It was like it became it’s own constellation.

Jolting backwards Rizier, raising their hands to their head. “Captain. Marco. I believe I’ve located the crystal. And both of the Legions.”

The pair of red knights were moving quickly, their guns flaring while remaining mobile. Between them Jenny weaved in and out of the fighting, changing her weapon’s form striking down soldiers. “You two hear that?” she asked looking back.

“Both Legions?” Marco shouted. “And the crystal.”

“All three together can’t be good,” Ya’Cahin scowled. “We need to get there now. Marco can you teleport us?”

“I can but not all of us at once. At least not like I am.”

Jenny loosed an arrow and glanced back at him, “You need to power up?”

“Yeah.”

“Then do it!” Ya’Cahin shouted. “Everyone together! Give Marco some cover!”

Looking at them he nodded quickly and fired off another shot then jump forward getting within the circle of their team. Spinning the gun onto the white he loaded the white stone and then fired. His visor flooded red as his psykik energy kicked off. His armor gained the white gleam to it and his cape settled at his back.

The moment he settled it seemed like the entire Legion army got a second wind and attacked with renewed vigor. The circle that they had worked to keep was starting to suddenly shrink. They backed up as much as they could, surrounding Marco. One of the soldier’s came and jumped bringing down a long pole arm with spinning energy blade teeth.

Alice spun her machete around catching the weapon against the blade and her arms jolted, “How quaint it is to see you again Alice. Come to share the fate of your captain’s former crew?”

“Shut up!” She snarled and shoved back against it. It dodged and punched her hard sending her sliding backwards. Legion jumped after her ready to hit her while she was down, when Gen got in its path. Bringing her arm back she punched it hard, an explosion of fire blowing its body apart.

“Get away from my daughter! You won’t hurt her anymore!”

“On the contrary. I won’t hurt anyone. I will just make them apart of my collective. And you will not be able to stop it. This time is not prepared for the powers that I will gain. My armies will triple in size. Planets will be under my sway. Nothing will be able to stop Legion.”

“Did it really just talk about itself in the third person?” Sarah asked.

“Thing’s got a megalomaniac complex,” Alice scowled. “It did this before when we trapped it.”

“You were cleverly able to get the better of me Astro Knights. The same trick will not work on me again.”

“We’ve got something we didn’t have last time though,” Jenny smirked.

A white beam shot from behind her and went through Legion’s body. The beam jumped from one body to all of the others. Iit pierced and ricocheted among them all stunning them and shattering the symbol of Legion. But then it kept going into the distance. It kept going until it shot into the distance behind them. Marco came out of the light with his new armor.

Spinning his gun around his finger he pointed at the ground and suddenly they were bathed in his white light. When it faded they stood in front of the crystal, the nebula that was Legion waiting for them. The lights in the nebula flared brighter and they could hear a screech from the being. “No more running!” Ya’Cahin declared.

Marco shouted, “Everyone lend me your power! We’ve got one shot at this!”

His team immediately nodded and thrust their hands at him. Their palms glowed their respective colors and shot at him as solid beams of color. Marco raised his gun to the skies as the barrel began to whir like a turbine. It morphed until it turned into a massive canon that he rested against his shoulder. With a shout he fired and it shot a solid beam of multicolored light through Legion and the crystal.

When the light faded, they were drenched in silence. Legion and the crystal were gone. No one moved waiting for something to happen. But then the ground began to shake. It rumbled hard enough for them to all fall to the ground losing their balance. The ground exploded beneath their feet as the massive Taq-Law rose up, its body covered in red crystal.

Legion’s symbol bathed them in red light as it said, “Did you think you had won?”
