Lily kept her arms around herself, wearing a jacket, a sweater underneath, and a scarf yet she still felt cold. Rubbing her hands together she peaked her head forward and stared down at the train tracks. No sign of Samantha’s train yet but that was to be expected. She was early.

With a savage punch Samantha flew backwards, bouncing off the ground and into the wall. Letting out a shout she rolled to her side slightly as the wraiths’ fiery form seemed to suck all the color from the warehouse. She could just barely see the open docks from the hole that she had created.
“So, Sam you’re calling me pretty early in the day. Shouldn’t you be in school? Actually, there’s two others. Are all of you skipping school?” Samantha’s captain asked through the speakers of the laptop.
Samantha dropped her bag onto the floor of the motel room and brushed her fingers through her hair. A single queen-sized bed, a desk, a television and bathroom. She had only brought two bags. One for school and the other a duffel bag with another set of clothes and some amenities bought while here.
“You still haven’t told them, have you?” Dick closed his locker door and turned to look at Lily who was giving him a look and he let out a heavy sigh. Putting away the last of the books he needed for homework he shook his head.
Samantha squeezed the railing above her head as the train took a turn and jostled slightly. Though she didn’t stumble she felt the shake in her legs and stiffened them to remain up right.
