They ran straight into the cloud of smoke and into the bar itself. There were several broken tables and chairs littering the ground not to mention shards of wood from the wall. There were people on the ground, some cowering, some unconscious and some not quite so fortunate.

“Aquarius, meet Speedy.” Gemini said walking to the stables. The resistance had taken Speedy and given her a space in their stables. The horse in question snorted upon Gemini’s arrival and stamped the ground impatiently. It was almost as if she was saying what took him so long to see her.

“What’s our progress in the field?” Leo asked.

Capricorn held onto the chain of the chandelier tightly as it swung back and forth. He was gritting his teeth as he swung again harder and harder. “Here goes nothing. Kick Capricorn.” He leaped from it and touched the ceiling for a second before bursting toward the ground.

Leo’s blade swept through in a blaze that cut the air. Aries ducked under the blade but the flames still singed his face. Grunting in pain he dashed from under her and landed a few feet away. His body crackling with power he dashed at her again thrusting his spear forward.

Leo was disoriented from the light and the rush of movement. She tried to reach out and strike at Aries but she hit nothing but air. Suddenly she was thrown against the ground. She almost slid to her side but she forced herself to at least remain upright. The floor she was on was polished. […]

It was morning though it was hard to tell underground and away from natural light. No one ever stayed there for too long. The members of the resistance cycled shifts in the hideout, being above ground, and doing missions on the outside.
